Ulotrichi Radio has been on the air since September 2004, transmiting from Olympia, Washington's community station, KAOS 89.3 Fm. On the surface, the show would seem to follow a relatively loose format. And, with a wide array of styles and sounds, from the Abyssinians to Zap Mama, that often is the first-time listener's assessment. However, Ulotrichi Radio's format is actually rather strict. By adhering to the qualifier: "Socially & Spiritually Conscious Music," Ulotrichi strives to support musicians who are dedicated to revealing their understanding of the human experience. Whether that means calling out the hypocrises and corruptions of those in positions of power, praising the wonder of the unknown forces that divine us daily, or simply crying out for someone to dance with, Ulotrichi tries to help the listener experience the power of conscious, energy-based music.
